Position Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Director of Finance to serve as a key financial leader supporting a complex portfolio of investments and operating entities. This role extends well beyond traditional accounting and controllership responsibilities and combines elements of finance leadership, financial planning and analysis, real estate finance, tax coordination, and investment decision support. The Director of Finance will oversee accounting and financial operations while serving as a trusted advisor to ownership and leadership. The successful candidate will help drive capital allocation decisions, manage liquidity planning, evaluate investment opportunities, and enhance the financial infrastructure supporting a growing private investment platform. Key Responsibilities Lead consolidated cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning across multiple entities and investment vehicles. Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and long-range forecasts to support strategic decision making. Monitor capital needs across investments, real estate holdings, and other ownership initiatives. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support capital allocation decisions. Support acquisitions, dispositions, developments, and other investment transactions through financial modeling and analysis. Evaluate projected returns, financing structures, development budgets, and investment scenarios. Assess tax, liquidity, and strategic implications of investment decisions. Serve as a finance partner on real estate and investment initiatives. Accounting, Reporting & Governance Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and performance measurement across a diverse portfolio of entities. Ensure timely and accurate financial information for ownership and leadership. Enhance reporting processes, controls, and systems to support organizational growth. Support governance, valuation, ownership tracking, and financial stewardship initiatives. Tax Strategy & Advisor Coordination Partner with external tax advisors to support tax planning and compliance activities. Evaluate the tax consequences of transactions and investment strategies. Identify opportunities to improve after-tax outcomes and support efficient capital structures. Lead and develop finance and accounting resources. Help build scalable finance capabilities and processes to support future growth. Foster a culture of analytical rigor, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ideal Background Successful candidates will likely come from one or more of the following environments: Family offices Private investment firms Diversified private ownership groups Closely held businesses with complex investment portfolios Experience supporting high-net-worth investors, multiple legal entities, real estate investments, and private capital structures is strongly preferred. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting, finance, FP&A, or investment‑related experience. Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and liquidity management expertise. Experience with real estate investments, acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, or related asset classes. Understanding of tax implications associated with investments and ownership structures. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial issues into clear business recommendations.
