Summary: Responsible for procuring the assigned products and services for the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Identifies, analyzes, and qualifies vendors. Performs vendor reviews or market analysis of products periodically. Proposes process and product improvements Collects the product requirements from sales, engineering, and production. Works with vendors to obtain drawings, technical datasheets, prices, order minimums and multiples, availability, delivery dates, and tracking information. Maintain this information in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and other systems. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority Process, approve and deliver purchase orders to meet targeted inventory goals. Monitors past due orders and expedites delivery of goods from vendors as required. Works with production and quality to address defective products, determine the root cause, and take corrective action Helps resolve receiving issues and approves invoice exceptions (quantity or price differs from the P.O.) for payment by accounting Other Responsibilities: Observe all safety and security procedures for our area. Use equipment and materials properly and report potentially unsafe conditions to management. Your personal safety actions will be accountable in your performance review. Education and/or Experience: High School/GED Required. Associates or bachelor’s preferred; or 3-7 years related experience. ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and inventory management experience are preferred. Computer Skills: High level of understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or MRP (Material Requirements Planning). Microsoft Dynamics Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance & Operations (F&O), Microsoft AX, or Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Other Skills and Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Strong organization, problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with vendors and employees Demonstrates attention to detail CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPIM (Certified Production & Inventory Manager) certifications are a plus Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
