ED Tech - Emergency Department - Full-Time Night shift

Job Summary: ED Tech - Emergency Department - Full-Time Night shift Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Provide safe, age‑appropriate care to patients including: Obtain and document vital signs; notify nurse of abnormalities. Perform 12‑lead EKG and hand to ED physician. Perform bedside blood sugar testing; notify nurse if abnormal. Measure and apply extremity splints as directed. Instruct patients on safe crutch ambulation with demonstration. Oral suctioning. Superficial wound care. Perform procedures using aseptic technique: Sterile tray preparation. Dressing application. Phlebotomy. Telesitter Facility Liaison Track, deliver, maintain, and retrieve telesitter carts. Troubleshoot cart connectivity issues; place IT tickets if necessary. Perform safe‑room guideline checks upon initiation and at each hand‑off. Conduct environmental rounds to ensure safe‑room guideline compliance. Respond to remote telesitter escalation for face‑to‑face intervention. Notify nurse and charge nurse when face‑to‑face redirection is required. Transport, using good body mechanics as appropriate Transport patients via stretcher or wheelchair, ensuring patient safety. Transport unit supplies, equipment, and patient medications. Monitors patients in restraint / seclusion Monitor frequency as per policy. Document monitoring as per policy. Notify nurse of abnormal findings or observations. Observes cardiac monitors to ensure recognition of arrhythmias Recognize cardiac rhythms and communicate findings to a registered professional. Provide accurate patient information for each monitor in use. Maintain cleanliness of monitors and pumps in the monitor room. Ensure patient care area is appropriately stocked. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma General or GED General Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor Required Minimum Experience: Required Required Minimum Skills: Effective communication skills (verbal and written) required. Proficiency with desktop computer required. Demonstrate willingness to be a team‑player and a self‑starter required.
