As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant Manager, Sales & Marketing to support our Rubber & Elastomers Group. This includes activities such as account management, new business development, project tracking/management, and budget generation/management.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager, Sales & Marketing is responsible for developing and growing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving profitable sales growth across assigned markets and accounts. This role works cross-functionally with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to deliver technical and commercial solutions while meeting sales, profitability, and business development objectives. The successful candidate will develop expertise in our product portfolio and markets to serve as a trusted advisor to customers and business partners.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and grow strategic customer accounts by developing growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and leveraging market intelligence
• Determine customer requirements and recommend material solutions based on performance, cost, availability, and market conditions
• Prepare and present pricing quotations, proposals, and commercial recommendations for new and existing customers.
• Coordinate product evaluations, samples, and cross-functional resources to develop and implement customer solutions
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales forecasts, pipeline management, and business reporting
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor by recommending materials, educating customers on product capabilities, and supporting resolution of technical and processing challenges
• Lead commercial discussions, contract negotiations, and annual business reviews with customers
• Lead departmental digital transformation initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve business processes, data utilization, workflow automation, process standardization, and operational efficiency through digital technologies and AI-enabled business tools
• Meet or exceed sales, profitability, customer retention, and business development objectives

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Materials Science, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
• 3-8 years of experience in B2B polymer or raw material sales, manufacturing, compounding, or a related technical field
• Experience with chloroprene rubber (CR), styrene block copolymers (SBC/SIS), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), synthetic rubbers, engineered resins, or related materials is preferred but not required
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and consultative sales skills
• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical and commercial solutions
• Demonstrated ability to manage customer, supplier, and internal stakeholder relationships in a global business environment
• Curiosity and willingness to learn industry applications, customer processes, market trends, and supplier technologies
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural business environment
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
