General Summary: Under general supervision, responsible for a variety of interior cosmetic repairs and/or replacement including, but not limited to fabric, vinyl, leather, plastic, carpet, window tint removal, wheel repair, glass and dyeing/color matching on CarMax and customer vehicles.On an as needed basis, responsible for Reconditioning Associate and Reconditioning Associate I and II duties including but not limited to, zone maintenance, prep for delivery, vehicle receiving, inventory scanning, vehicle movement (both on and off lot), basic vehicle detailing including car wash, wash bay, interior cleaning/vacuuming, exterior cleanliness, completing cosmetic inspections, final quality inspections, paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Execute standardized work processes as defined at established pace timeParticipate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities with teamParticipate in training of new associates with guidance of Reconditioning Associate LeadDiscern the colors of repair materials in order to recondition vehicle interior components to meet CarMax standardsDying and color matching of fabric, vinyl, leather, plastic and carpetRepair windshield chips (glass repair)Identify defects and most appropriate repair methods according to CarMax standardsResponsible for work place cleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax 5S standards Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customersEnsure all equipment is maintained, repaired, and cleaned as required within assigned zoneEnsure proper levels of equipment and supplies are maintainedSupport retail service as neededComplete duties as assigned by Lead and ManagersJob Specifications: Position requires the following pre-requisites and ability:New Associate Orientation TrainingOperations Accountable to Associate 1Competency Model KronosTraining for Hourly Associates Complete Reconditioning Associate, Reconditioning Associate I, II and IIIWorkstation Certifications Meet Reconditioning AssociateReconditioning Associate I and IIPerformance Standards ReadInterpret and transcribe dataRequired to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environmentRequired to perform manual tasks at a specific pace for a specific period of timeMay rotate job duties in other areas per qualifications and needLift objects that weigh as much as 50 poundsSpeak and listen effectively in dealing with customers/associates, both in person and over the phoneComplete CarMax provided training in all functional areas of the inventory process, allowing for cross-training and full coverage of the inventory and detail area Working Conditions: Combination of both office and outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditionsWalking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and/or standing for an extended periods of timeVarying work schedules and shifts that may include nights, weekends, holiday, and extended shiftsFollow all CarMax and government regulations and rulesAdhere to all CarMax policies including but not limited to Attendance, Proper Recording of Time, Asset Protection, Safety and Standards of Professional appearanceAbout CarMaxCarMax disrupted the auto industry by delivering the honest, transparent and high-integrity experience customers want and deserve.
