Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – 24-Hour Shifts | Dyersville, IA 52040

Low-Volume Emergency Medicine Locum Opportunity | Flexible 24-Hour Coverage

We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment in Dyersville, Iowa (52040) . This is an excellent opportunity for physicians who enjoy 24-hour shifts , low patient volume , and a balanced mix of Emergency Department and inpatient responsibilities .

Position Overview

• Specialty: Emergency Medicine

• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel

• Shift Structure: Primarily 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

  • Occasional 12-hour shifts

• Minimum Coverage: 3 shifts per pay period

• On-Call: In-house coverage (sleep room available)

• Practice Setting: Emergency Medicine with inpatient coverage

• EMR: EPIC-based system

• Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

Clinical Volume & Support

• Average ED Volume: ~4 patients per day

• Average Inpatient Census: ~4 patients (obs, acute, swing bed)

• ED Capacity: 3 treatment rooms

• Inpatient Beds: 20

• Staffing Support:

  • Registered Nurses on all services

  • Advanced Practice Providers on site

  • CNA and ancillary support

• Imaging & Labs: Available on site

Requirements

• Board Certified Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
  OR FP/IM with recent Emergency Medicine experience

• Active Iowa medical license

• Clean malpractice and background history

• Comfortable with ED coverage and inpatient responsibilities

• Ability to cover 24-hour shifts
