Job Description
Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required
License: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required


Must-Have:
Minimum of an Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after July 1, 2018


Description:
This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum.
Lactation education and assistance will be provided.
Family-centered care including the well newborn and the Level 2 Nursery is essential.
Expertise and compassion are expected in individualized nursing care for patients and families.
Collaboration with providers, staff, and other team members is required to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The nurse oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
The ability to triage incoming patient requests for services is essential.
Patient education is delivered to facilitate the plan of care and promote optimal wellness.
Demonstrating appropriate delegation of care according to state statutes is necessary.
Competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritization, and critical thinking skills are required.
Handling high telephone volumes of patient requests for medications, information, and assistance is vital.
Medications will be administered, treatments performed, and assistance in procedures provided as needed while adhering to patient safety guidelines.
Coordination of patient care with other practices is needed to achieve the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is important.
Excellent service is delivered by utilizing relationship-based care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and communication.
The principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values are to be role modeled.
HIPAA compliance is a must.


Physical Activity:
Occasional sitting, standing, and walking are required.
Frequent lifting of up to 35 lbs is necessary.
