Registered Dental Assistant

Overview NaphCare is hiring a FT Registered Dental Assistant to join our team of medical professionals in the San Diego County Jails in San Diego, CA. You must be able to travel to all sites within the county. Pay rate for this position ranges from $32.40 - $34.20/hour. Responsibilities As a Dental Assistant, your responsibilities will include preparing patients for dental procedures, assisting patients with treatments, and maintaining patient dental records while protecting the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to: Coordinating dental services and assisting Dentist with patient care, instruments, supplies, documentation and supporting the function of the dental department. Assisting Dentist during treatment by providing instruments, materials, retraction or suction. Ensuring all dental equipment properly maintained and in good working order and the dental suite is clean and well-stocked. Sterilizing and disinfecting equipment and tools. Assisting in triage, dental sick call requests, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and performing other administrative tasks. Explaining dental procedures and oral hygiene practices to patients. Taking and developing x-rays, assisting with dental laboratory function. Qualifications New grads are encouraged to apply! Completion of a one or two-year dental assistant program at a vocational school or community college. Maintain proper training and unrestricted certification as a Dental Assistant. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Be able to obtain CPR certification. Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information. Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening. Physical Capabilities Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
