Base pay range $135,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr Must haves: 10+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years in an architecture/engineering/planning field or consulting or government contracting environment 4+ years managing staff. Experience supporting finance and contracts team in accounting for projects in accordance with FAR and DCAA guidelines. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). 1+ years experience in a Controller role. Has worked in a company of 300+ employees, $40m+ gross revenue, 500+ monthly invoices in recent position as Contoller. Held a recent position in the A+E (AEP) field. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA preferred. Proficiency in Deltek Vision or VantagePoint preferred. The Silver Spring office of Toole Design is our corporate headquarters. We are conveniently located just outside of Washington DC in downtown Silver Spring, two blocks from the Silver Spring Metrorail/MARC Station and bus depot. Our beautiful 8th floor suite offers stunning views of DC and surrounding Montgomery County. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit. A Day in the Life of a Controller: As the Controller, reporting to the CFO, you'll be the process owner for all accounting functions - ensuring the company's financial health and ability to grow into the future. You'll be responsible for the monthly, quarterly and year-end close and consolidation processes. You'll manage payroll, billing, and AP teams. You will also work with our Contracts department, ensuring that the company is in contract compliance with all regulatory requirements, including all statutory taxes and contract-related FAR requirements. You will use your experience and expertise to create new processes and optimize the current processes.
