Maintenance Mechanic

Job Purpose:

Our Maintenance Mechanic will be supporting manufacturing operations by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on production machinery and facility systems. This role ensures equipment reliability and efficiency to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production output, while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing performance and sustaining a safe working environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examine form and texture or parts to detect imperfections.
Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repair or replace defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricate and clean parts.
Start devices to test its performance.
Set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Initiate purchase request for parts and machines.
Repairs electrical equipment.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• May work day, evening, night, or rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• On-call availability may be required for emergency maintenance needs.

Work Experience:

● 5-10 years of related job experience. ● Ability to work quickly and efficiently. ● Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven. ● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.

Education:

● High School Diploma/GED

Able to work in the following Working Conditions that may be Infrequent, Occasionally, Frequent, or Continuously:

• Inside and Outside
• Extreme cold, hot, and humid weather
• Confined space
• Noise level above 85 db
• Vibration/hand-arms
• Exposure to fumes, odors, mists, dust, grease
• Mechanical and Electrical Hazards
• Moving Objects
• Working on ladders/scaffolding
• Additional working conditions, when needed.

Physical Requirements that may be Infrequent, Occasionally, Frequent, or Continuously:

• Standing and walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, repeated bending, crawling, balancing above ground, reach/work above shoulder level, lie on back, twist at waist, finger/hand movement - repetitive, neck flexion, good hearing and visual capabilities.
• Additional physical requirements, when needed.
