Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift

Maintenance MechanicThis position is primarily responsible for providing maintenance support to two manufacturing facilities including scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, installation, and set-up task on the equipment, machinery, and buildings as required. An employee in this class must have the flexibility to be on-call, as this position is a part of a team who helps support 2 manufacturing plants.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoots and diagnoses problems and works effectively with a team to proactively handle maintenance needs as they ariseRemoves defective parts and installs new partsInspects machinery regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting schedule testing as appropriate.Monitors, identifies and responds promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in machines performance.Installs equipment, electrical components and fixtures.Welds metal parts, components, or structuresAccurately completes paperwork and maintains maintenance logsMaintains a schedule for inspecting, servicing and testing machinery.Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action.Follows facility and industry best practices, SOP's, and other safety guidelines; understand how to comply with all workplace safety standardsMaintains a clean and safe work environment.Communicates effectively with co-workers and management.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Valid Driver's LicenseMust possess an excellent working knowledge of electrical, welding and general maintenance and repair skills2 to 4 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or equivalent educational experience in a maintenance capacity.Working knowledge of power tools, hand tools, cranes, hoists, etc.Strong troubleshooting experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Physical DemandsRegularly required to stand; walk and talk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands or arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and taste or smell.Regularly required to view items at a close range and must be able to adjust and readjust focus.Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move from 25 pounds to up to 50 pounds.Work EnvironmentRegularly exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.The noise level is usually moderate with equipment noise below 85 decibels.Area temperature range is 75 to 90 degrees.
