RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours guaranteed per week
• 13-week assignment available
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients), may go to 1:6 in extreme situations
• Required to float to like units within facility
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks, may require more based on staffing needs
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Unit will accept first-time travelers
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required skills: IV start, ventilators, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Care for patients with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, and pulmonary embolisms
• Manage chest tubes, cardiac drips (dopamine, cardizem, heparin), ventilators, trachs, BiPAP/CPAP
• Use hospital systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
• Scrubs not provided - must wear white or navy blue
• Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays), must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Strict call-off policy enforcement - RTO after booking not allowed

Facility:

This medical center operates a 48-bed progressive care unit that provides high-acuity medical-surgical care with comprehensive support services. The facility maintains extensive resources including admission/discharge nurses, vascular access teams, respiratory therapy, rapid response teams, and behavioral health teams. The unit specializes in caring for patients requiring ventilator support, chest tubes, and cardiac monitoring, with a team-based approach that includes respiratory therapists, assistant nurse managers, and specialized support staff available around the clock.
