Shift: Rotating 10-Hour Shifts
Assignment Type: Exclusive EPIC Assignment |
The Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist serves as the technical consultant and direct supervisor of laboratory personnel while managing the performance of all laboratory testing. This role oversees quality assurance, laboratory safety, regulatory compliance, staff development, and departmental operations while functioning as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned laboratory professional who thrives in leadership and enjoys mentoring teams while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Weekend Coverage: Same schedule requirements as weekdays
On-Call: None
Lead and oversee all laboratory testing and Point-of-Care Testing ( POCT )
Ensure accuracy and validity of laboratory results
Supervise, mentor, and train laboratory personnel
Manage quality control, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance activities
Coordinate equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration
Evaluate and implement new laboratory technologies and procedures
Ensure compliance with:
CLIA
FDA
CAP
Joint Commission (JC)
AABB
OSHA requirements
Manage staffing coverage and support employee development initiatives
Serve as a laboratory resource and liaison across hospital departments
Maintain accreditation readiness and regulatory compliance
Bachelor's Degree in:
Medical Technology
Clinical Laboratory Science
Biological Sciences
Chemical Sciences
Allied Health Technologies
Or equivalent education and training
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience
Current EPIC experience required
Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License – Required
ASCP or NCA Certification – Preferred
