Position Summary :
As an Assistant Showroom Manager, you will be integral to the day-to-day sales and operations of the showroom, supporting the Showroom Manager in driving sales, achieving performance goals, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires a hands-on approach, leading by example to support sales and team coaching and development.  In addition to assisting with leadership responsibilities, you will be key in managing store operations, from opening and closing procedures to ensuring visual and operational standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Drive Sales & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Make strategic and operational decisions that reflect and support Purple’s core values.
• Drive store performance to meet or exceed sales goals and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the Showroom Manager to set clear goals, monitor overall store performance, and track team progress.
• Take ownership of personal sales goals and performance, while supporting team members to meet their objectives.
• Assist in holding the team accountable for their individual sales performance and overall productivity.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Support Talent Development

• Coach and mentor showroom associates, demonstrating and promoting sales behaviors that align with the company’s strategy.
• Foster a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment to ensure high morale and job satisfaction.
• Encourage professional development and growth opportunities for associates within the team.

Uphold Visual and Operational Standards

• Adhere to Purple’s policies, including safety and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with the Showroom Manager to implement visual marketing displays and promotional materials.
• Ensure the store environment is customer-centric and solution-oriented.
• Ability to learn and share product knowledge with customers to ensure they find the best solution for their needs and preferences.
• Lead by example in demonstrating and instilling company values such as safety, community, communication, development, accountability, and innovation.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience :

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years’ retail experience, ideally with supervisory or leadership experience.
• Comfortable learning and adapting to new technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Have a passion for delivering excellent service.
• Ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• A desire for personal and professional growth in leadership, team management, and problem-solving.
• A solid understanding of basic business management functions.
• Enthusiastic, positive attitude.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and assist with managing a team.

• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Moving in various positions to complete tasks in different environments.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.

Physical activities may consistently include:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for extended periods.
• Moving around to complete tasks or transitioning between different work areas.
• Reaching or bending frequently.
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with the ability to lift up to 200 pounds with team assistance or equipment.
• Repeating motions such as using wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Operating power tools, depending on the role.
• Assessing the accuracy and quality of work performed.
