Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianCardinal Staffing Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support mechanical reliability and equipment performance for a manufacturing operation in Lima. This role supports an embedded, wall-to-wall production model, where packaging is manufactured directly onsite to improve efficiency and sustainability. The technician will work closely with plant leadership to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and meets production and quality standards. Location: Lima, OH Schedule: 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3) – Days & Nights1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM2nd Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AMStatus: Full-time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) Pay: Starting at $27/hour (flexible based on experience)Key Responsibilities:Ensure safe and efficient operation of all production equipment to meet performance and quality standardsFollow all Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety protocolsPerform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issuesIdentify and resolve equipment inefficiencies and production issuesConduct equipment changeovers with minimal downtimeMaintain accurate maintenance records and inventory usageDiagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systemsSupport installation and setup of equipment, machinery, and systemsWork with conveyors, compressors, chillers, PLCs, and robotic systemsPerform building maintenance and general repairs as neededCollaborate with production teams to improve processes and equipment performanceMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasCommunicate issues, progress, and improvement ideas with management and team membersQualifications & Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required; Technical certification preferred3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing (plastics or similar preferred)Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipmentKnowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systemsExperience with preventative maintenance and troubleshootingAbility to read technical documents, blueprints, and equipment manualsBasic computer skills (MS Office; SAP experience a plus)Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work a 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3), days and nightsAbility to lift 50–75 lbs and work in varying temperaturesForklift experience or willingness to become certifiedWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, and moving equipmentFrequent standing, walking, bending, and climbingAbility to safely work on and around production machineryAbout Cardinal Staffing Services: At Cardinal Staffing, a Surestaff Company, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
