Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually (Part-Time) + Benefits
Future Full-Time Salary: Up to $120,000 annually + Benefits

Position Summary


The Part-Time Controller will oversee the company's accounting and financial operations while working approximately 25 hours per week. This role has a strong potential to transition into a full-time Controller position. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a family-owned manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the company's day-to-day accounting operations.
• Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to ownership.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax professionals.
• Support inventory accounting and cost accounting processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Experience managing the full accounting cycle.
• Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems (QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation is a plus.
• Experience in a family-owned or small-to-mid-sized manufacturing company.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting.
