Data Management Manager

Data Management Manager Duties: Lead the US commercial Data Lake at Amgen as a business owner for two therapeutic areas, overseeing operations including data governance, data quality and hygiene, and platform administration to support data‑driven decision making. Oversee onboarding and setup of new data sources and datasets for analytics, reporting, and incentive compensation in support of existing brands and new product launches. Act as product owner for platform enhancement requests from cross‑functional stakeholders (Analytics, Data Sciences, Forecasting, Field Force Effectiveness), leading cross‑functional prioritization and end‑to‑end implementation. Develop data services capabilities such as integration of internal and external data, enabling data science and AI/ML capabilities to provide insights. Develop analytics applications and collaborate with software engineers to create data processing pipelines for datasets using AWS and Databricks. Use programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL to build pipelines. Collaborate with Data Architects, Business SMEs, and Data Scientists to innovate and optimize the data ecosystem, enhancing customer support and scaling architecture for future growth. Lead and implement new Data Platform capabilities by conducting proof‑of‑concept initiatives and technology evaluations to streamline and automate data pipelines, improving data quality and availability. Review use cases, requirements and technical designs to identify risks and write technical specifications, flow charts and architectural diagrams. May telecommute. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering Management, Data Science or related field with at least 2 years’ experience in a related occupation. Commercial data analytics experience with pharmaceutical datasets (patient‑level data, sales data (XPO, DDD), chargebacks, claims, IQVIA, Speaker Programs, OneKey demographics). Data engineering experience – data ingestion, integration, prototyping, and reporting using SQL, Python, Informatica, supporting product launches. Experience analyzing large‑scale relational datasets (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and performing extraction/manipulation with Databricks and Redshift. Business intelligence and advanced visualization skill set (Tableau, Microsoft Power BI) to develop dashboards and generate strategic insights. Robotic and workflow automation experience (UiPath, Blue Prism, SharePoint) to streamline manual tasks in regulated environments. Knowledge of regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH) related to handling critical patient‑level data. Master Data Management (MDM) experience implementing and supporting MDM processes in the pharmaceutical industry. Job type: Full‑time position. Annual salary range in the U.S.: $112,635.00 – $139,340.00 per year.
