Position Health Care Aide Salary Range $14.42 - $19.98 per hour; based on the IISPA Master Agreement. (26/27 Wage Scale TBD) Organizational Affiliation Ionia Intermediate Support Personnel Association (IISPA) Reports To Administrator of Accountability & Program Improvement Application Period Date Posted: May 22, 2026 Start Date: August 17, 2026 Application Deadline: Until Filled About The Role Assists teachers in district classrooms for students who are cognitively impaired or physically/health impaired by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individualized student education and positive behavioral support plans. Responsibilities Provide physical support to students with varying strength and limited mobility including wheelchair transfers and lift equipment. Implement program-wide and individual student behavior intervention programs, including monitoring behavior data collection, preparing incident reports, physical intervention, and reward systems under teacher direction. Supervise and monitor students during classroom activities and non-structured settings (e.g., arrival, departure, lunch, field trips, and recess). Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to interact with professionals and health care aides to provide a positive educational experience for children. Physical ability to safely lift students as needed: 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to push and pull heavy objects, repeatedly kneel, bend, twist or stand for long periods of time and other physical requirements when necessary.
