Organ Procurement Coordinator - Transplant Clinic - Full Time - Jeff Hwy

This position is responsible for responding to all organ offer calls for the Multi‑Organ Transplant Institute, evaluating medical management of donors, verifying consent, and communicating with physicians and surgeons to obtain acceptance of organs. The role includes preserving, arranging transportation, and transporting organs, administering all required administrative duties, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements related to organ procurement and transplant. Education High School diploma or equivalent (Required) Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Preferred) Work Experience 3 years in a clinical or surgical setting (Required) Clinical Organ Procurement experience (Preferred) Certifications Eligibility for or current State Board of Nursing Licensure in the state of practice (Preferred) American Board of Transplant Coordinators (ABTC) Certification as Clinical Transplant Coordinator Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficient with Windows‑style applications and various software packages specific to the role. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently of direct supervision, setting priorities, and managing time. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Working knowledge of technological resources, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended hours, on‑call, etc. Job Duties Respond to organ offer calls for the Multi‑Organ Transplant Institute. Communicate organ offers with appropriate parties and arrange donor organ recovery. Participate in the recovery of cadaveric and living donor organs with transplant surgical staff. Transport cadaveric donor organs, blood, and tissue specimens. Perform all organ listings, emergent listings, wait‑list status changes & recertifications, and removals as required by regulatory requirements and organ‑specific transplant coordinators. Respond to all inquiries for donor information, provide follow‑up information, and maintain all documentation needed for regulatory compliance and organ acquisition billing. Maintain donor related information in transplant database, complete Kidney transplant TIEDI forms, and assist blood bank in maintaining inventory of stored donor blood vessels in compliance with UNOS requirements. Maintain procurement supply levels, order new supplies, and insure discard of outdated supplies. Attend and participate in required team meetings. Perform other related duties as required. Physical and Environmental Demands Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time; occasional walking or standing for brief periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds occasionally. Ability to sit for prolonged periods. Flexible work schedule required, including more than 8 hours a day and on‑call availability. Exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
