Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring interventional cardiac cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Position is located in the Cath Lab of a 562-bed acute care hospital designated as both a Level I Trauma Center and a Magnet facility
• 5-room unit with an average daily census of 25
• Interventional cardiac cath lab patient population requiring advanced procedural care
• Required procedures include circulating, diagnostic catheterizations (adult), left and right heart catheterization, and pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Required medication experience includes procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Charting is performed in Cerner
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (0630–1900)
• Candidates will work 2–3 weekends per contract
• On-call is required as needed
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required of all travelers
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available with a permit obtained during orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with procedural sedation monitoring required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period
• RTO requests of 5 days or fewer are generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
• Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager
