General Function The Associate Technician is responsible for the set‑up, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area for surface or finish portions of lab production. Major Duties And Responsibilities Perform various tasks of area production machine functions. Interpret Rx work tickets. Operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures. Perform basic/routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and advise supervisor of possible remedies. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: Lens wash Tool selection and replacement Equipment set‑up for daily production Equipment clean‑up at day’s end Prepare necessary solutions or slurry mixtures for lens production and ensure sufficient supplies. Perform daily and weekly calibration of equipment as directed by the area supervisor. Effectively communicate with all levels of the laboratory to ensure proper application of company policies and procedures. Maintain work area and common areas in a neat, clean, and organized condition. Follow all company and laboratory policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with attendance and safety rules and regulations. Assist others as necessary to meet deadlines and maintain workload balance. Provide proper training, direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees. Attend in‑house or sponsored training meetings when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals and requires safety training. Basic Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Ability to multi‑task with an orientation to detail and operate in a fast‑paced environment. Basic high‑school level math skills. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
