RN - Step Down Unit / Progressive Care

Location: Anchorage, AK

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for our Step Down Unit, also known as the Progressive Care unit. This high-acuity unit requires skilled nurses who can adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage a variety of patient needs effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients in a high-acuity step-down unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as needed.
• Perform physical assessments and ensure intake and output are recorded every 4 hours.
• Conduct hourly safety rounds to ensure patient comfort and security.
• Participate in patient handoffs during shift changes for continuity of care.
• Assist with emergent procedures and interventions as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active AK RN license (permanent, no temporary licenses accepted).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a step-down, ICU, IMC, or PCU setting.
• 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH-SS.
