Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized emergency nursing care in a high-volume Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center. Respond to a wide range of urgent medical situations, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients upon arrival and prioritize care based on acuity using established protocols.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as directed by physicians and in accordance with policies.
• Monitor patient status continuously, utilizing equipment such as GE monitors and Baxter pumps.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, conditions, and discharge instructions.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the Cerner system, maintaining compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid RN license and meet state licensing requirements.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent experience in a Level 2 trauma or high-volume emergency department.
• Be ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI certified before start date.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and coaching skills.
• Be flexible to work in all areas of the ED, including behavioral health holds.
• Have experience with high-acuity patient care and trauma procedures.
