Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years, with at least 1 year in mental health nursing required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS Certification required, CPI training must be current prior to start Must-Have: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required Excellent team player Ability to manage stress appropriately and make decisions under pressure Flexibility required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. The RN is responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. In this role, the RN will develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care. The RN will evaluate patient outcomes and identify available resources for patients. The Crisis Psychiatric Unit provides care to patients aged 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses. Some patients may also have a need for medical care. The most frequent psychiatric diagnoses include major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. Patients requesting detoxification may also be part of the clientele.
