Madabolic General Manager - Orlando (Creative Village)
Madabolic
Job Description
Job Description
WHO WE ARE
MADabolic is THE Strength Gym. Founded in Charlotte’s South End in 2011, MADabolic now has roughly 45 locations nationwide. We are hitting the ground running and becoming the FIRST to bring MADabolic to the Orlando area.
Our mission is to be the best in the world at training — and at providing a Third Place — for the everyday athlete and high achiever.
Three things make us different:
Strength. The base of our program. Intentional programming with real weights, designed to make you stronger.
Structure. Five movements, five lanes, 52-week programming. Structure makes repetition possible; repetition makes you strong. The floor is built for scalability and progression, with a level of organization that promotes coaching over chaos.
Accountability. A one-on-one training experience delivered in a group setting. Form is the keystone of sustainable, injury-free progress. Clients and coaches hold themselves and each other to the highest standard.
THE ROLE
Maybe you already work in fitness, but you want to be on an ambitious team that cares as much as you do. Maybe you have caught yourself thinking about what it would be like to run a small business and lead a team. You want to feel the impact of your work on people’s lives. You’re already passionate about fitness... What if you could live that passion every day?
As General Manager of MADabolic Orlando, you run the business. The team, the members, the numbers, and the neighborhood are yours.
But Orlando is different: this is a brand-new MADabolic market. We are not stepping into an established member base or years of local brand awareness. We are building something from the ground up, and we need a GM who is energized by that.
You will lead a high-performing team, introduce MADabolic to the Orlando community, build local partnerships, create events, generate leads, sell memberships, and turn first-time visitors into long-term members. You will also lead great classes and build a studio known for excellence and care.
This is a role for someone who wants to build, sell, lead, and create — not simply maintain what already exists.
ABOUT MAD ORLANDO
Every MAD studio has a different path to success. Orlando’s path starts with building the market.
This will be the first MADabolic in the Orlando area, giving us the opportunity and responsibility to introduce the brand to an entirely new community. There will not be years of local brand recognition to rely on. We will create it.
Our success will come from getting into the community, building genuine relationships, developing strong local partnerships, hosting memorable events, generating referrals, and creating buzz around what we are building.
The right GM will have be a self-starter. You notice opportunities, meet people, follow up, and make things happen. You are comfortable walking into a neighboring business and introducing yourself, building a relationship with a local run club, apartment community, wellness provider, employer, or coffee shop, and turning those relationships into meaningful partnerships. You also know how to sell; not through pressure or gimmicks, but by listening well, understanding what someone needs, communicating why MADabolic is different, and confidently asking them to take the next step.
In Orlando, sales, events, partnerships, and grassroots community building are not side projects — they are a core part of the job.
At the same time, growth cannot come at the expense of quality. We want to build a strong, sticky member base of people who believe in the training, connect with the community, and stay.
We will win by giving people the best hour of their day, bringing our community into the neighborhood, and bringing the neighborhood into our community. A strong pipeline matters — but conversion, connection, and retention are what turn a successful launch into a great long-term business.
You are helping establish what MADabolic means in Orlando.
WHAT YOU OWN
Your team. Lead, manage, and drive accountability across the studio. This includes a Lead Trainer: who carries their own metrics and part-time staff. You will help establish the expectations, energy, and culture from the beginning.
Getting Orlando in the door. Referrals, local partnerships, events, grassroots marketing, and community presence. Lead acquisition for Orlando is yours.
The sales pipeline, end to end. Lead to trial, trial to member. You own the entire journey through proactive outreach, thoughtful follow-up, disciplined lead management, and confidently asking for the sale.
Events and partnerships. Build relationships with businesses, residential communities, fitness and wellness partners, clubs, and community leaders. Create opportunities that put MADabolic in front of the right people.
Coaching great classes. Roughly 6-8 classes/week. As the studio lead, you drive the standard on the floor.
Studio performance and culture. The trains run on time. The schedule is covered, the systems get used, and the place feels like somewhere people want to be.
Building the business. New markets require initiative. You will constantly ask: What else can we do? Who else should we know? Where else should MAD be showing up? You spot opportunities and act on them.
WHAT THE WEEK ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Coaching 6-8 classes.
Time in the building outside your own classes. You know members by name; they know you.
A weekly 1:1 with your Lead Trainer, where you drive their performance and support their growth.
A weekly/biweekly 1:1 with Ownership to drive your performance and support your growth.
Deliberate time out in the Orlando community. Developing partnerships, prospecting, attending and hosting events, and connecting with people who have not found us yet.
Lead nurture, sales conversations, and member communications. Consistent, timely follow-up with everyone connected to the studio.
Planning and executing events, pop-ups, partnerships, and other opportunities that introduce people to MADabolic
Some early mornings, some evenings, some weekends. Events and community opportunities will not always happen between 9 and 5. You will largely be expected to manage your own schedule rather than clocking in and out.
WHO THRIVES HERE
You want to run a business, not work a shift. You are energized by building something from the ground up.
You are a self-starter with a bias toward action. When there is no obvious next step, you create one.
You like people, relationships, and sales. You are comfortable introducing yourself, creating opportunities, following up, and asking for the close.
You want to be the face of a brand on the floor, around the neighborhood, at events, and wherever the Orlando community might encounter MADabolic.
You like being measured and coached. Data, accountability, feedback, and development motivate you.
You value quality and connection. You would rather build a loyal community of 300 members you know by name than churn through 500.
You are resourceful and get things done. Our business is hard, but not complex. Consistency, discipline, and ownership win every time.
This is probably not your role if:
You want a predictable 9-5, fully remote role, or the same routine every day.
You want to inherit a fully built business rather than help create one.
You are uncomfortable with sales, prospecting, networking, events, or asking someone to take the next step.
You prefer waiting for opportunities to come to you rather than going out and creating them.
You don’t want to be the person who gets the call when something goes wrong or you don’t believe in MADabolic’s approach to fitness.
You’re buying time while you look for the job you really want. We want people who want this role, with this team, in this market, right now.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
For Orlando specifically, we are looking for someone with the energy and ownership mentality required to launch a brand in a new market. You do not need to have opened a fitness studio before, but you should be able to point to times when you built something, grew something, created opportunities, or owned an outcome without being handed every step.
Fitness. 1+ year as a trainer in a group setting with weighted, functional movement or you know the brand being a past member and have the skills & want to become a trainer. You perform our core movements at a high level and can credibly lead a fitness brand.
Leading people. You have managed people or teams, and ideally someone who had their own numbers to hit. If you have not, show us how you have held people to a standard anyway.
Selling. You’re comfortable selling something you believe in. You build relationships across a wide range of personalities, listen well, follow up consistently, and are comfortable asking for the close.
Business development. You naturally look for opportunities to create partnerships, events, referrals, and new sources of business. You are comfortable starting with a blank page and building a pipeline.
Running on systems. You have worked somewhere with real process and rigor. Ideally, you were the one keeping it tight.
The neighborhood. You enjoy being around people, love community, and genuinely want to build something local. Familiarity with Orlando and an existing local network are valuable, but initiative and the willingness to build relationships matter even more.
Entrepreneurial ownership. You do not need to be told every move to make. You see what needs to happen, take responsibility for it, and follow through.
Our core values:
Better is Better. We are excellent in everything we do.
Be the Best You. We commit to getting better every day — as people and as professionals.
Be Bold. We stand up for what is right and take Extreme Ownership.
MADfam First. We put team and members first, creating a Third Place that fosters connection and builds strong people.
Work. Rest. Repeat. We grind. We make time for the people and things that matter. We find joy in life.
