The opportunity now is to join a rocketship as we prepare for the next stage of growth, and an eventual public listing.This role is onsite 5 days a week in Hodgkins, ILAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to own 2nd shift Outbound Warehouse Operations (Dry and Fresh/Frozen) at our Randolph's fulfillment center. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this role directly manages a team driving daily throughput against targets while building a stronger frontline leadership bench. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency, raise the floor of frontline leadership, and ensure a safe environment.ResponsibilitiesOwn 2nd shift Outbound execution end-to-end, with primary focus on Dry and Fresh/Frozen operations, driving throughput against daily targetsMaintain outbound distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and proceduresEvaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processesManaging frontline teams in a high-volume, fast-paced fulfillment environment and comfortable coaching the teamComply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by understanding and studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actionsSafeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocolsMaintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacementAchieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actionsComplete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work resultsContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in warehouse/fulfillment operations2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management roleWarehouse Management System (WMS) experience, including KPI/productivity trackingProficient computer skills, including Excel and reporting toolsAble to work 2nd shift consistentlyPreferred QualificationsBilingual in English and Spanish preferredSix Sigma / Lean process improvement exposure preferredExperience helping scale a growing distribution center preferredOSHA certification or project management certification a plusBenefitsComprehensive health insurance package, including medical, dental, and vision.
