Job DetailsJob Location: Brookpark - Cleveland, OH 44135 Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 SalaryPosition: Purchasing Specialist Pay Range: $60k-$65k Annually Location: Cleveland, OH Reports To: Supply Change Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Malley’s Chocolates is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll be assisting with sourcing and purchasing raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies while ensuring alignment with production schedules and inventory needs. You’ll play a key role in maintaining cost-effective procurement strategies and strong vendor relationships to keep our operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Foster and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers through regular communication and collaboration. Monitor inventory levels and issue timely purchase orders to support production requirements. Track purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery of materials; proactively resolve delays or supply issues. Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Inventory teams to forecast material requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records within the ERP/MRP system. Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality, service, and reliability. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations. Promptly communicate material shortages or supply chain issues that may impact production to the Production and Plant Managers. Resolve receiving discrepancies and related issues promptly, ensuring appropriate follow-up with vendors until issues are fully resolved. Obtain, review, and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from vendors to ensure compliance with quality and food safety requirements. Assist with managing supplier relationships and resolving purchasing challenges in a timely and professional manner. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership. Qualifications & Skills Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain preferred. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and organizational abilities. Assist with managing supplier relationships and resolving purchasing challenges efficiently.
