Overview

Excellent locum opportunity for a General Surgeon in North Dakota. This position offers flexible 10-day call coverage blocks, a low daily census, and strong anesthesia support.

Practice Highlights

• Call Coverage: 10 days per month (24-hour call)

• Trauma Level: IV

• Bed Count: 25

• Average Daily Census: 15

• Average GS Patients per 24 hrs of call: 05

• Call Response Time: 20 minutes

• Anesthesia Coverage: CRNA group

• No APP supervision required

• Scheduled Surgery: MondayFriday

• Emergent Cases: 24/7 availability

• Abdominal, Endoscopy, Liver, Stomach, Gallbladder, Appendix, Colon, Laparoscopy, Spleen

Procedures Preferred

• Pediatrics

• Hysterectomies

• Respirator care

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified (or BE within 3 years of residency) Required

• Active ND License or IMLC (in process or full) Required

• ACLS, BLS, ND DEA Required

• Clean malpractice and background preferred

• No active monitoring agreements or revoked licenses

• If malpractice/legal history exists, provide full disclosure with narrative (dates, settlements, disposition)

• Privileging lead time: ~30 days (temporary privileges available)

Schedule & Coverage

• 10 days of 24-hour call per month

• Mix of own cases and consults only (no clinic unless scheduled)

• Surgery schedule: Mon/Wed/Fri Clinic Tues/Thurs Surgery + clinic hours after procedures (as needed)

Additional Details

• Vendor must complete provider background and 12-panel drug screening post-offer.

• Disclosure required if provider has previously worked with any CHI/Dignity facility.
