What You'll Do

As an SMT Operator, you'll play a critical role in the production of precision electronic assemblies by:

• Operating and setting up SMT equipment including pick-and-place machines, AOI systems, reflow ovens, screen printers, loaders, and X-ray equipment.
• Loading feeders, verifying component values, and preparing production runs for success.
• Assisting with machine programming, setup, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
• Performing SMT and through-hole assembly, hand soldering, rework, and component installation.
• Conducting visual inspections and quality checks in accordance with IPC standards.
• Using multimeters and other tools to verify product functionality and quality.
• Following customer prints, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation with precision.
• Supporting continuous improvement efforts while maintaining productivity and quality goals.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of SMT operation, electronic assembly, soldering, or machine operation experience.
• Experience working with circuit boards, electronic components, and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with miniature components.
• Ability to read work instructions, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
• Comfortable using computers for data entry and production tracking.
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience

• AOI, pick-and-place, reflow oven, screen printer, or X-ray equipment operation.
• IPC-610 knowledge or certification.
• AS9100 and ITAR manufacturing environments.
• Quality systems, MES tracking, SPC charting, and electronic troubleshooting.

Work Schedule

2nd Shift

Monday - Thursday | 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
