Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking a contract Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller. This role can be remote. This role will join the team on a contract basis and take immediate ownership of the month-end close and core accounting processes. This role will work report directly to Finance Leadership.Summary:This is a highly execution-oriented role for an accounting professional who can step in quickly, operate independently, identify gaps, and bring structure and consistency to the close process. The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced, growing environment and is comfortable working through complex accounting issues, acquisitions, and evolving processes. The role will report directly to finance leadership and will play an important role in supporting Q4, year-end close, and the continued development of the accounting function. The initial engagement is expected to last 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to a permanent position based on business needs and performance.Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage and execute the monthly close process from start to finish
• Develop, implement, and maintain a practical month-end close checklist and timeline
• Identify missing or incomplete accruals and ensure appropriate accounting treatment

Skills

• To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
• Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
