We’re hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Wyandotte, MI. The Respiratory Therapist will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment and care for patients with breathing disorders, provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport, operate and monitor ventilatory equipment, perform diagnostic tests and procedures, and document patient response to therapy. The role requires collaboration with attending and pulmonary physicians and adherence to clinical policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing with the State License Board.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Minimum one year experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required prior to hire.
• Experience with invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, ventilator setup and monitoring, and arterial blood gas sampling.
• Competence with suctioning, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and basic arrhythmia recognition.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience assisting with bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and pleural drainage devices.
• Prior experience in a moderate to high acuity hospital with familiarity performing pulmonary function testing and capnography monitoring.

Assignment Details

• Nights, 4x12.
• Must have ACLS before hire.
• Ability to perform patient transports and float within the facility as needed.
