Underwriting Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE:Support Medical Underwriting team by consistently providing timely and efficient response to our customers and members. Provide a broad spectrum of administrative support to Medical Underwriters to expedite the review and approval of health insurance applications. Problem resolution skills and ability to address concerns that is in the best interests of both the agent/client and our organizationESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ability to review and approve non-medical risk as per the guidelines established by the medical underwriting team. Including but not limited to prior insurance coverage research, request of medical records and follow up with physicians offices, medical facilities and distributors.Effective and timely follow up of pending items with agents and underwriting doctors to ensure approval of pending applications within time stipulated.Effectively and timely communicate underwriting responses to agents.Review pending reports on a daily basis to ensure that pending items are answered within the time stipulated in the level service agreements provided to agents.Communicate in an effective and professional manner to all agent/member inquiries.Commitment to respond immediately to any client concerns, needs, questions or problems. Ensure appropriate follow up occursAnswer agent/members questions regarding our product and services.Ensure proper information is communicated to agents/members on declined coverage and/or exclusions.Manage difficult situations and handle complaints effectively.Proactively identify issues related to delays in response time.DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:Experience in the insurance and/or healthcare industryMinimum of 2 years customer service experienceProficiency with Microsoft OfficeNecessary Knowledge: /SkillsKnowledge of Medical terminology a plusGood oral and written skills in both English and SpanishWell organized, with good attention to detailGood judgment and problem-solving skillsFlexible, proactive, and self-motivatedEffective planning, organization and time managements skillsFlexible, proactive, and self-motivatedTeam player #J-18808-Ljbffr Best Doctors Insurance Services Llc
