Job Summary

Registered Nurse Emergency Room. Provides professional nursing care in a collaborative emergency department setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of patient needs. The role supports patients across multiple age groups in a Level II trauma environment and follows established professional and unit standards.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience within the past 5 years, including experience in a Level II trauma center; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; required Epic charting experience; travel experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; at least 1 year of Epic experience; Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or de-escalation training.
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; document care in the healthcare record; direct and delegate care according to team members education, credentials, and demonstrated competence; participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and ongoing professional development.
• Additional Information: Patient ratios are 1:4. The emergency department treats trauma, chest pain, ST-elevation myocardial infarction, abdominal pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, urinary tract infection, stroke, sepsis, and orthopedic injuries. Clinical responsibilities may include triage, emergency medication administration, blood product administration, procedural sedation monitoring, management of ventilated patients, chest tube management, intravenous vasopressors, dysrhythmia management, wound and burn care, behavioral health care, and care for neurological and orthopedic trauma. The setting supports neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
