Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team in a float pool capacity. This is an opportunity to work in multiple locations within the region, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Intermediate Care (IMC) settings.
• Float across various facilities within a designated 60-mile radius as required.
• Administer medications and manage drips, including but not limited to cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan.
• Receive patient assignments and support team members where needed.
• Participate in patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal patient management.
• Ensure all patient documentation is completed accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC).

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in PCU or IMC.
• Prior neuro experience is preferred.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS is required.
• Experience in titrating and managing cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly EPIC.

Patient Population

The work environment involves caring for adults and geriatrics with a variety of diagnoses, including cardiac cases, neurologic conditions, orthopedic surgeries, general surgeries, and more.

Shift Information

• Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and may vary based on facility needs.
• Weekend requirements include 6-9 shifts within a 6-week schedule.
• Holidays may entail participation in a rotation.

Work Environment

The Registered Nurse will work within a supportive float pool, which allows flexibility and exposure to different areas of patient care, fostering professional growth and collaboration with nursing staff across various units.

Orientation

All new hires are required to participate in a week of orientation to become familiar with procedures, policies, and workflows.
