Part-Time Distribution Assistant

Job Type Part‑time Position Overview The Distribution Assistant supports Paylocity’s delivery of payroll checks by accurately preparing, packaging, and coordinating shipping for over two million checks per month. Work is performed in a distribution center located in Springfield, NJ. Location 21 Fadem Road, Springfield, NJ Unit 10 Pay $18 per hour Schedule Monday – Wednesday, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST (part‑time 3 days/week, 8+ hrs/day). Full‑time shifts are available up to 5 days/40 hrs/week at manager discretion. Overtime may be required during year‑end. Primary Responsibilities Match each order’s checks/vouchers and ensure printing and packing instructions are followed. Review and sign off pack‑out sheets for approval. Perform weekly inventory to ensure appropriate stocking of supplies. Operate and troubleshoot printers, sealers, and inserting equipment. Perform operator maintenance and minor repairs to printing and finishing equipment. Act as keyholder to open and close the distribution center, as needed. Coordinate with outside technicians for advanced equipment repairs and make service calls for critical repairs. Assist with inventory control via weekly counts. Provide feedback as subject‑matter expert for equipment and procedures, assist with training new hires, and update training materials. Respond to CRM‑related email inquiries regarding quality defects, tracking queries, and delivery issues, and remediate as needed. Follow up proactively on client requests for resolution. Assist with printing and preparation of advanced tax distribution work, when required. Research and maintain key intradepartmental documentation. Assist with nightly audit for accuracy, take corrective action on identified issues, and send tracking files timely. Communicate with shipping couriers as needed. Provide feedback during team huddles and 1‑on‑1 meetings. Partner with the Tax Distribution team to ensure timely mailing of payments to state/local tax agencies. Other duties and projects as assigned. Education and Experience Experience in packing, mail room, or distribution environment desirable. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Minimum of 6 months experience working at a PCTY distribution center (if transitioning from part‑time to full‑time). Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements Mobility required to stand, sit, walk, and bend for long periods. Ability to lift, hold, and carry objects up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended periods (7–8 hours per day).
