Work hours: 36 hours/week, Monday - Saturday, 6 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

Operate equipment used to harvest crops. Drivers responsible for transporting workers will be required to have a valid and unexpired Federal Farm Labor Contractor or Federal Farm Labor Contractor Employee Registration with driving authorization. Will be responsible for operating the motorized vehicles and equipment used to move crops on the farm. Must be able to safely operate the buses that are used to transport workers to and from worksites. Should be able to provide proof of accident-free driving record and background. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Must be able to reach, bend and lift items weighing 80 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in dusty/dirty conditions, in extreme heat and cold inclement weather. Workers may be required to assist in the completion of the fieldwork being performed. Worker may be required to operate farm vehicles to move between field locations. Must be able to work in fields where ants, snakes and poison ivy are encountered. The alternative work is truck maintenance and farm maintenance – including the repair, irrigation, vehicles and various equipment and tools used on the farm. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic devices during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination.

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 2 months experience required.

Must be able to lift at least 80 lbs.

Job will require exposure to extreme temperatures. Temperatures may range from 30-100F.

Extensive pushing and pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time.

Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, etc. may affect workers’ ability to perform the job.

Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations.

Workers are exposed to wet weather early in the morning and heat throughout the day while working in the fields. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations.

Additional Compensation

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
