Overview

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and collaborating with the Managing Directors, Director of Investments will develop and implement investment strategy and risk management frameworks for assigned asset classes. The role leads research and portfolio management, sources investments, undertakes both qualitative and quantitative analysis, and provides recommendations to deliver excellent performance for the University. This leader builds effective relationships with asset managers, conducts independent due diligence, and represents the Office in internal and external engagements. Collaboration across the Office supports continuous improvement and mentoring of analysts, interns, and additional staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement investment strategy and risk management frameworks for assigned asset classes.
• Lead research and portfolio management processes, including sourcing investments and performing qualitative & quantitative analyses.
• Conduct research and develop recommendations that enhance strategy and investment performance.
• Build relationships with asset managers, conduct due diligence, and maintain high ethical standards.
• Represent the Investment Office, communicating ideas and findings to internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues to pursue team improvement initiatives and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience: 7+ years in investment roles, ideally within endowment, foundation, corporate or public plan sponsor, family office, or asset management. Must have led due diligence of external investment managers. Preference for those with direct investment or transaction experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Significant knowledge of multiple asset classes, evaluating investment philosophies, and qualitative & quantitative assessment. Strong analytical problem solving, planning, execution, and presentation abilities. Proven communication skills and data‑driven memo writing. Credibility in representing the Office across audiences, building senior-level relationships, and operating with integrity and detail orientation. Capability to work independently and motivate teams toward shared goals.

Salary: USD 300,000 to 340,000 per year (base only, excluding bonuses)
