Medical Assistant (Lead)

The Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for full‑time positions in the Family Health Services and Behavioral Health Services Divisions. Job Summary The Lead Medical Assistant will support the expansion of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) within the Behavioral Health Division and provide leadership, training, and coordination for Medical Assistants and student interns across the medical assistant classification. Responsibilities Provide support and training to Medical Assistants on clinical tasks including vital signs, ANC testing, coordinating lab services, EKGs, and other clinical duties. Coordinate with physicians, caseworkers, community and support services to facilitate appropriate referrals and service transitions for clients moving from services, jails, or hospitals. Conduct medical reviews of clients, facilitate referrals, and arrange transport to promote service engagement. Serve as a liaison to emergency departments, county jail, local medical providers, and internal clinics to assist clients in accessing MAT services. Assist with clinic flow, referral processing, and staffing as needed. Qualifications One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to the County of Solano class of Medical Assistant. Licensing / Certification Requirements California Driver’s License, Class C Valid Medical Assistant certificate issued by an accredited college or institution with hands‑on laboratory drawing, venipuncture, injection administration, ECG, and X‑ray training. Valid Phlebotomy Certificate Valid CPR Certificate Proof of all certificates must be submitted by the application review deadline. Certifications Not Accepted American Medical Association (AMA) California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) COVID‑19 Vaccine Requirement All employees in health care settings are required to be vaccinated.
