$55,000–$65,000 annualized equivalent, depending on experience

Tree City Eyecare is a locally owned and growing primary care optometry practice in central Boise with an emphasis on specialty contact lenses, myopia control, ocular disease, and full-scope primary eye care.

We are looking for a highly organized, people-focused Practice Manager to help support our team, strengthen communication, improve systems, and continue delivering an outstanding patient experience.

The heart of this role is helping team members feel supported, heard, equipped, and empowered to excel. The right person will understand that systems, training, communication, and accountability are not just operational tools — they are how we create an environment where our team can provide compassionate, expert care.

Responsibilities

The Practice Manager will work closely with Dr. Jaimen Dixon, other providers, on-site and remote staff, and future department leaders to support:

• A culture aligned with our mission statement
• Staff leadership, coaching, and communication
• Team member growth, confidence, and role clarity
• Hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development
• Scheduling and staffing coordination
• Staff check-ins, performance feedback, and accountability
• Task tracking and follow-through
• Staff and leadership meetings
• Patient experience enhancement
• Practice workflow and process improvement
• Development and organization of training materials and procedures
• Remote team member support and coordination
• Support the billing team in revenue cycle management
• Vendor, supply, and administrative coordination

This person will not be expected to personally perform every task in the practice. Instead, they will help ensure responsibilities are clearly assigned, team members are trained, systems are followed, communication is strong, and barriers to excellent patient care are identified and addressed.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means our team feels more supported, communication is clearer, training is easier to access, responsibilities are better understood, and staff members feel more confident in their roles.

Over time, the Practice Manager should help create an environment where team members are comfortable raising concerns, discussing bottlenecks, suggesting improvements, and participating in solutions.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is steady improvement, thoughtful communication, clear expectations, and a team culture where people feel equipped to provide excellent care.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare, professional services, administration, customer service, operations, or team leadership
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar tools
• Comfort learning new software systems
• Ability to work in-office in Boise, Idaho
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and strong follow-through

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in optometry, ophthalmology, optical, dental, veterinary, medical, or another healthcare setting
• Previous team lead, supervisor, office manager, trainer, or coordinator experience
• Experience with onboarding, training, scheduling, hiring, or performance feedback
• Experience creating checklists, procedures, or workflow documentation
• Familiarity with EHR or practice-management software
