Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric ED (Syracuse)

Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Pediatric Emergency Department opening in Syracuse, NY.

If Pediatric ED is where you do your strongest work, this assignment could be a great fit. We’re looking for an RN with recent Pediatric ED experience, formal triage training, and the confidence to support young patients and their families from the start.

Schedule / Shift

Shift Vary

Every other weekend required

Some holidays required

13 weeks with possible extension

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State RN registration
• Current BLS certification or ability to be recertified
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience within the past 2 years in an acute care facility of similar size/ Level 1-2 hospital
• Majority of experience must be in a Pediatric Emergency Department
• Strong triage skills required
• Formal triage training required
• Ability to perform the majority of patient care skills needed in the specialty with minimal orientation and supervision
• Strong nursing assessment skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Adult ED experience is a plus
• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
• EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience preferred
• Experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma centers preferred

• Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care in a Pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Perform nursing assessments and support emergency patient care with minimal orientation and supervision
• Use strong triage skills to assess patient needs and support appropriate care flow
• Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary staff to support safe, efficient care delivery
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
• Support high-quality patient care throughout the shift
