Building Nurse

The Eastern Lebanon County School District is now accepting applications for Building Nurse. The successful candidate will, under the direction of the certified school nurse or designee, respond to the health needs of students, provide additional support as needed, or attend field trips. Responsibilities will include the administration of medications, health assessments, evaluation and treatment of illnesses and injuries, and the documentation of all office visits and medication administration. Applicants must possess, at the minimum, LPN certification; RN certification is preferred.

Assists the school nurse in coordinating the school health program including delivery of services to students and staff members in order to enhance health and wellness in the school community. Responsibilities include providing direct school nursing services, collaboration, and health education.

Essential Job Functions include reporting to work regularly and on time, implementing the school health program as set by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Department of School Health and local school district, conducting various screenings, administering medications, collaborating with various departments, and maintaining health records on all students.

Marginal Job Functions include performing other duties as may be assigned by the school nurse, principal or director of pupil personnel.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required and Desired include a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification, with a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) certification being preferred.

Terms of Employment include 7.5 hours per day; 189 days per year.
