GAP Leader

General - Main Duties/Activities
Conduct a daily meeting (Top 5) at start of the shift to review previous day (or shift) results, highlighting any problems or achievements, review shift targets, communicate quality issues and quality alerts to GAP, discuss recent continuous improvements implemented and address any concerns from GAP while encouraging Improvement Ideas from the team. · Participate and re-enforce within the GAP the standards provided in workshops on quality improvement (5S, TPM…).
Ensure daily team management: o assure appropriate headcount, allocating team members to production operation (including packing) according to process requirements and as necessary, – advise supervisor of any variation in manpower o ensure the respect of standardized work methods · Perform any operation within the GAP, including assembly line and/or operate any welder, press or other manufacturing equipment or quality gauges or measuring equipment as required.
· Co-ordinate and perform routine changes over and set up activities according to production schedule and customer requirements. Advise Supervisor when non-scheduled change over is required.
· Co-ordinate and perform scheduled first level preventative maintenance activities including lubrication, tightening nuts and bolts, checking/resetting tolerances, changing and cleaning filters and degreasing.
· Assist team members as necessary in minor repairs including PLC resets. Advise maintenance and or Supervisor if additional assistance is required.
· Verify through visual check, that all process requirements are met and normal safe practices are in place. Instruct team members as necessary. Advise Supervisor of any continuing off standard condition.
· Verify through visual check, that correct material is in place to support production schedule. Advise Supervisor and or Materials Department of continuing shortages and or misplaced and or miss-labeled stock.
· Ensure all first and last off quality checks are performed using approved gauges and measuring tools.
· Assist in the investigation and resolution of off standard quality conditions. Ensure appropriate containment actions are in place. Advise Supervisor of any continuing problem.
· Maintain team communication board (GAP Board) including – but not limited to: SPC charts, QCDP indicators, team versatility (polyvalence) training, shift log, continuous improvement activities, etc. Advise Supervisor of shortfalls to production standards.
· Assist with the polyvalence, safety, and FES principals training of team members and the orientation/training of new team members.
· Ensure GAP team follows workstation documentation such as job instructions and appropriate quality procedures defined for the workstation (standard operations, standardized work, safety, auto control).
· Work independently with a minimum of direct Supervision to provide reinforcement to the GAP in a manner that demonstrates Faurecia’s commitment to its seven values and the FES system.
· Liaise with the support functions (engineering, maintenance, materials) whenever necessary.
· Maintain good housekeeping standards and support 5S improvement activities as needed.
· Follow all safety procedures in the workplace, including the customer and Faurecia locations.
· All other duties as assigned

Specific Responsibilities
· Drive and Support of continuous improvement of team in attaining FES goals and targets assigned.
· Must arrive 15 minutes prior to shift for pre-shift Top 5 with Supervisor.

Qualifications
Skills and Know-how/Credentials and background
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Fluent in the English language, both written & spoken
· Demonstrated and proven ability to perform all required operations within the assigned GAP
· Basic computer knowledge preferably with Excel, Word and PowerPoint ___________________________________________________________________________________________
