Established (60+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Civil Defense Attorney for Civil Defense and Insurance Defense Litigation in Farmington, Michigan

 

An established firm based in Farmington, Michigan with over 60+ years in practice is seeking a Civil Defense Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement. This role involves handling civil defense litigation, insurance defense, professional liability, premises liability, and complex tort matters , representing insurers and insured clients in state and federal courts while managing cases through all phases of litigation.

Salary range: $115,000-$155,000+, contingent on experience

Qualifications
Active Michigan Bar membership in good standing
Three years of experience handling civil defense or insurance defense litigation
Experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances
Background defending professional liability, premises liability, or general tort matters
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple matters independently in a collaborative team environment
Strong client communication skills and sound professional judgment

 

Responsibilities
Defend clients in civil and insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and substantive legal memoranda
Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials
Develop litigation strategy and advise clients on risk exposure and resolution options
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to deliver effective and efficient client service
Manage active caseloads while meeting court deadlines and client expectations
