Donor Prospect Research Specialist (Advancement Professional I) Classification: Advancement Professional I Department: Office of Central Development, Division of University Advancement Job Summary Under direct supervision, perform entry‑level technical and professional work within the advancement field, including gathering and analyzing data, producing reports, assisting in advancement activities, representing the university, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and applicable regulations and laws. Perform less complex assignments following detailed procedures. Work is regularly reviewed for understanding of professional concepts and compliance with policies and procedures. Essential Qualifications Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field, or relevant education and/or experience demonstrated on a year‑for‑year basis. General professional knowledge of advancement and fundraising tactics. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and potential donors. Ability to follow guidelines and provide input and feedback. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a donor‑ and stakeholder‑service‑oriented approach. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Strong attention to detail, analytical and math skills for research and financial account reconciliation. Organizational skills to plan, organize, and prioritize work. Proficiency in technology and relevant software packages. Background check (including criminal records) must be completed satisfactorily. Preferred Qualifications Experience with research and data analysis. Familiarity with ResearchPoint, LexisNexis, WealthEngine, and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT. Work experience in nonprofit or public organizations that receive donated funds, with an understanding of how those funds are solicited, allocated, and used. Knowledge of creating general and detailed research biographical profiles and maintaining confidential prospect information. Experience with engagement scoring, machine learning approaches to donor modeling, or network analysis. Special Working Conditions Must be able to work at annual commencement ceremonies.
