Manufacturing Unit Leader

Becton Dickinson seeks a Manufacturing Unit Leader to oversee production operations, process management, and team performance at its Sumter facility. The role requires delivering quality, safety, delivery, and cost targets while developing manufacturing capability and fostering accountability across the production unit.
Responsibilities
- Own production delivery, process execution, and team performance against SQDC targets
- Develop and mentor manufacturing unit staff; conduct performance reviews and regular 1:1 coaching
- Manage unit budget, headcount, and establish cascading goals to line and workplace levels
- Spend 50%+ time on production floor driving continuous improvement and resolving operational issues
- Collaborate with logistics on production scheduling and lead BD Excellence implementation activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science, industrial management, business, engineering, or related field
- 5+ years manufacturing experience in highly automated environments
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
- Advanced decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficient project management and quality systems knowledge
- Proficient Microsoft Office and financial acumen skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal
