Diesel Mechanic

Description Summary Performs maintenance and repairs on New Vision vehicles, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical problems in equipment, and maintains a clean and organized work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports New Vision Co-op's stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values. Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times. Provides outstanding and courteous customer service. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on New Vision vehicles according to OSHA and New Vision safety standards. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical problems in equipment with new or remanufactured parts. Inspects and tests equipment and maintains fleet in DOT compliant condition. Keeps all work areas clean and organized. Coordinates equipment downtime with Supervisor. Completes and archives paperwork as required by Supervisor. Reports major repairs and abuse of equipment to Supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year formal training in diesel mechanics or 1 year experience as a diesel mechanic; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Commercial Vehicle Inspector Certification preferred. Must have demonstrable mechanical skills. Must have good communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. Valid Class D. Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and health card certification preferred. No moving violations for one year. No DUI violations for five (5) years.
