Postdoctoral Fellow – Deciphering the Oral–Liver Axis: Integrative Cross‑Organ Multi‑Omics Analysis The University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral fellow to commence on 15 November 2026, or at a mutually agreed date, within the Hansen Group at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), University of Copenhagen. This fellowship is part of the CBMR International PhD & Postdoc Program. About the Center The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) pioneers research toward better cardiometabolic health. Through collaborations spanning single-cell genomics, whole-body systems and interdisciplinary studies, CBMR seeks to transform basic knowledge into prevention and treatment strategies. Research Focus The Hansen Group aims to bridge the gap between genomic discoveries and their physiological and clinical impact. The project in which the Postdoc will participate integrates human genetics, salivary microbiome and metaproteomics with longitudinal clinical data to uncover causal mechanisms and biomarkers along the oral–liver axis. The role involves collaboration with clinicians and method experts across oral health, liver disease and multi‑omics research. Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Conduct computational analysis of large-scale biological datasets. Perform multi-omics integration and biological interpretation of complex datasets. Apply causal inference methods, network and pathway analysis to longitudinal data. Translate computational findings into biologically meaningful insights. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and manage project coordination. Contribute to data-driven publications and presentations. Qualifications PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistical genetics, systems biology or a related field. Excellent scientific track record appropriate to career stage. Experience with large-scale integrative omics data analysis, including human genetics (GWAS, Mendelian randomization, colocalization), proteomics, metagenomics, or related areas. Familiarity with longitudinal data analysis, causal inference methods, and network or pathway analysis. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English. Project management and coordination skills. Eligibility Fellowships are open to applicants with a PhD awarded from a university outside of Denmark, or to Danish PhD holders with at least 12 months of full-time research experience outside Denmark during or after their PhD. Applicants must have obtained their PhD before 15 November 2026 and cannot have held a postdoctoral position at the University of Copenhagen for more than one year prior to fellowship commencement. Terms of Employment This is a full-time position for two years commencing on 15 November 2026. Salary, pension and other terms will follow the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC. Qualified applicants may negotiate a salary supplement. Relevant tax reductions may apply for non-Danish and Danish candidates meeting specified criteria.
