About the Role

The Company is seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer to lead its regional economic development organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and driving the organization's strategic direction, leading its operations, staff, and budget, and serving as a key public voice for the Capital Region. This role is pivotal in working with the Board of Directors, investors, and regional partners to expand economic opportunity, strengthen the talent pipeline, and support business growth and industry diversification. The President and CEO will also be tasked with managing a large board, overseeing an operating budget, and ensuring sound financial management. Candidates for this role should have at least 10 years' of executive leadership experience in a comparable organization, with a proven track record of results in a complex environment. A working knowledge of economic development, public policy, business leadership, or related fields is essential, with a preference for those with IEDC or ACCE background. The ideal candidate will have experience in government relations and advocacy, be a credible public voice, and have full budget ownership experience, including nonprofit financial compliance. A Bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. The role demands a leader who can build and manage relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, including more than 500 investors, and who is prepared to take on the challenge of setting the organization's next strategic plan.
