Security Shift Supervisor

Valid driver's license required. Must pass a background test and offsite drug screen. Security Shift Supervisor Wage: $22.50 per hour. Essential Functions Act as supervisor of Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other personnel assigned to posts at client sites; ensure all post orders are followed, rounds are completed, and reports are filed; notify authorities and clients in emergencies. Coach and discipline personnel, seek advice from management when needed, and document coaching and disciplinary actions. Train Security Officers and other personnel; review post orders and assignment details with subordinates. Assist in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company. Ensure adequate coverage of all posts and positions in conjunction with management. Prepare, file, and submit required reports. Inspect posts on schedule and meet with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities. Meet with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are met and to provide quality customer service. Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies, state, and federal laws; duties include interviewing, orienting and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, coaching and appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and making hiring and termination recommendations. May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accordance with post orders and company policy. Education / Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Minimum 2 years of retail experience preferred. Competencies May be required to hold and continue mandatory state, county, and municipal licenses for Security Officers. Knowledge of security operations with an emphasis on patrol, inspection, and response services. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance. Understanding of various security and safety devices and controls. Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments. Ability to be an effective team member. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances. Courteous telephone manner. Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports. Good organizational skills. Strong customer service and results orientation. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, across diverse cultures, and at various social levels. Working Conditions (Physical/Mental Demands) Maintain composure when dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, including in urgent or high-pressure situations. May encounter stressful situations involving challenging individuals who breach authorized areas. Must meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, behavioral selection survey, and mandatory licensing requirements. Direct and discipline staff positively. May be required to work overtime without advance notice. Handle multiple concurrent tasks. Use keyboard, basic computer, and operating controls. Communicate clearly in speaking, writing, and reporting incident details. Frequently sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; may climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain. Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Frequent lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. Maintain vision for close and distance tasks. Use a vehicle regularly for duties. Occasionally perform stressful and physical activities. May work outdoors or in environments demanding protective gear or awareness of personal safety.
