Visual/Production Designer

We're looking for a Visual/Production Designer to bring Plaid's brand into our workplace experience.

This role sits within Design and partners closely with our Workplace Experience team. You'll design for moments people experience in person (and sometimes on screen): designing our swag store, signage, and company events collateral; swag people actually want to keep; and environmental graphics that make our office spaces feel like Plaid. Strong craft is the baseline — what we're also looking for is someone who's comfortable working with physical constraints (materials, print specs, vendors, install timelines) and who can carry a steady stream of requests without quality slipping.

Responsibilities

• Concept and design creative for company internal events, such as signage,digital graphics, presentation decks, badges, and other in-person collateral
• Design swag and merchandise, from concept through production-ready vendor files
• Design signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics for Plaid office spaces
• Partner with the Workplace Experience team to translate event and space concepts into shippable design
• Prepare and hand off production-ready, vendor-ready files (specs, print files, dielines, proofing)
• Manage your own queue across concurrent requests, flagging tradeoffs and prioritizing smartly
• Keep every physical expression of the brand recognizably Plaid while adapting to space, material, and format constraints

Must-haves

• 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with hands-on experience designing for print and physical/environmental applications
• A portfolio showing physical or experiential work, such as events, swag, signage, or environmental/office design
• Strong typography, layout, and color sense that holds up at both large scale (signage, step-and-repeats) and small scale (stickers, badges)
• Comfortable working with print vendors and production specs (bleed, dielines, materials, install constraints)
• Expert in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator especially)
• Comfortable working inside an existing brand system
• Effective both independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing office or environmental branding specifically
• Experience with 3D or mockup tools to visualize physical spaces
• Experience with motion or AI/automation tools
• Interest in fintech, technology, or the future of financial services
